Green Bean l Flores Natural 1kg

Flores has an advantage that Sumatra lacks for Natural processing: a genuinely dry season, thanks to the southeastern monsoon winds blowing from Australia. Drying whole coffee cherries requires reliable sunshine for several consecutive days, and in Bajawa, that sunshine is available. Natural processing here is not just a stylistic choice; it is well suited to the local climate.

This lot comes from Bajawa, Ngada, East Nusa Tenggara, at an altitude of 1,200–1,400 meters above sea level, grown in mixed farms at the foothills of Mount Inerie and Mount Ebulobo. The coffee cherries are dried whole, and the flavor profile leans toward chocolate, orange peel, and pineapple.

For coffee shops looking for a fruit-forward, sweet single-origin coffee without stepping into the price range of experimental fermentation lots, these Natural-process Flores green beans offer a sensible middle ground. For roasters, they are forgiving to work with: their rich sugar content provides a wider roasting window.

POTENTIAL NOTES

Caramel | Orange Peel | Pineapple

We write potential notes, not tasting notes. This is green coffee, not roasted coffee. What ultimately ends up in the cup depends on your roasting profile. We simply provide a starting point.

EVERY LOT GOES THROUGH QUALITY CONTROL

Origin, grade, processing method, moisture content, density, and defect count. We inspect, store, and record every lot.

Coffee is not magic. Coffee is a process, and processes can be tested.

TRIPLE PICK QUALITY ASSURANCE

Why Is Our Green Bean More Reliably Sorted?

Most marketplace sellers claim Grade 1 quality based on just one round of coarse machine sorting. At Coffest Roastery, we apply three stages of physical purification:

1 // Suton Machine

Filters out foreign objects such as stones, twigs, dust, broken beans, and silverskin that may have passed through from earlier processing stages.

2 // Optical Sorting Machine (SORTEX)

Uses modern optical sensor technology to eject black beans, sour beans, and beans damaged by insect bites.

3 // Hand Sorting (Manual Picking)

Our expert team performs the final manual inspection to remove fungus-damaged beans and ensure that defects are reduced to nearly zero.

The drying process uses indirect sunlight through a greenhouse system to help preserve the coffee’s optimal flavor characteristics.
